As youngsters, we spent hours and hours perfecting our signatures, practising over and over until our imprint felt “just right”. Eventually, it became the brand we used everywhere. Pity, then, that we don’t spend enough time thinking about and practising our emotional signature.

Every leader has a distinctive emotional signature, which they imprint on every person they meet. Your emotional signature is one of the most powerful tools of motivation. How you make other people feel will determine how motivated they are, and that will determine how well your team performs.

Even in this COVID-19 era of video conferencing and remote working, managers everywhere need to be far more aware of the impact they are having on members of their team.
